The TransVirtual team are very proud to announce we’ve hit a new milestone in data security by achieving the ISO 27001 Certification for our information security management system (ISMS).
This was a huge undertaking and a big achievement for the whole team. The ISO 27001 Certification recognises our commitment to securing customer data to the highest standard and to continually enhance our data protection to safeguard personal data.
The ISO 27001 is the world’s best-known standard for information security management systems. Established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to promote globally recognised best practices for data protection, privacy, cyber security and information management.
What does this mean for our customers?
The ISO 27000 standards enable organisations of all sizes to manage the security of their assets and information to the highest standard:
▶️ Security of information in all forms (paper, cloud & digital data)
▶️ Increased cyber security resilience
▶️ Centrally managed protocols to secure all information
▶️ Ensure company-wide protection
▶️ Respond to evolving security threats
▶️ Reduces costs on ineffective security technology
▶️ Data protection – the integrity, availability and confidentiality
The auditing process
The auditing process is comprehensive, lengthy and extremely detailed. The auditing team needed to review and examine not only our TransVirtual (TMS) platform but the entire company, systems, processes, infrastructure, documentation, data, permissions and people. It required an intensive, multi-step process run by an accredited third-party auditor to conform to international standards and requirements.
TransVirtual’s Operations Manager, Murray Phillips, said:
“Bringing our processes and procedures into line with the ISO 27001 standard was a big project but it was satisfying to see the team come together to achieve this certification.
The only certainty we have is that threats will evolve over time, so we’ll ensure our Information Security Management System continues to mature as well. It provides us with a great framework as we continue to grow.“
